Monterey Classic

At the Labor Day Member-Member Luncheon the Fliers for this year's Monterey Classic were handed out. Included in the flier is the entry form. This year's event will be limited to 50 teams. When 50 teams are signed up a wait list will be established.

President's Cup

The 2020 President’s Cup has a new format with a traditional ending. This year we will be moving from a net score format to a match play format but will continue to have the traditional Green Jacket presentation to the overall champion.

There will be a hosted cocktail party at the Club House on January 4th, at 2:00 PM as a kick-off for this tournament. There will be a detailed presentation by the Pro Shop outlining the details on the rules of the tournament.

Skins Games at Monterey

For new members, there are several skins games during the week. These games are private games run by various individuals. Most accept new players but each game has its own guidelines. The Men's Club does not sponsor or run any of these games.

A Quick Summary of Each Game:

Monday --Jerry Eaves Game - No HDCP limit. They usually play from the Forward/Forward Challenge Tees. Team Game with Skins.

Tuesday -- Bud Ashcraft Game - This game is pretty full with a roster of 60. If interested contact Bud Ashcraft

Wednesday --

Joe Fonzo Game - Game starts at 8:00. Single digit HDCP play from the Black Tees, others from the Silver Tees. Team Game with Skins (No limit on skins HDCP.

Frank Davis Game - Game starts at 11:30. All players play from the Back Challenge Tees. Team Game with Skins limited to HDCP of 18 max.

Ray Miraglia Game - Very relaxed game. This game is referred to as the "Short Putt" game played in the morning. HDCPs range from single digit to 30.

Friday -- Tim Lillard Game - Shotgun start in late morning. Team Game with Skins (18 Max on Skins HDCP.)

Saturday — Play Day for Men’s Club. The Game is an individual Net game with skins.This game is run through the Pro Shop.

Handicap Survey

The Men’s Club is conducting a survey from September 9 through September 23 to get opinions about the method to use in determining HDCPs in MCC Golf Tournaments.

Click on the “Take Survey” link and vote. It takes less than 30 seconds. If you recently voted by paper please vote again, but please only vote once. A second vote will cancel both.

Labor Day Tournament

The 1st tournament of the year took place on Labor Day Weekend. The format was a Shamble (6 drives min.) on Saturday and Best Ball (both balls on all Par 3's) on Sunday.

It's That Time Again

It's time to renew your Men's Club Membership. Everyone should have received an email with a renewal application attached. To renew your membership simply fill out the application and put it in the tournament box to the right of the posting computer in the locker room. If you cannot make it to the course yuo can mail your application to the address listed at the bottom of the form.

To access these and other monthly reports go to the MEN'S CLUB NEWS menu bar at the top of the page and select BOARD MINUTES or BUDGET REPORTS from the drop down menu.
